Bowl A Rama

The GFWC Junior Women's Club of Springfield is sponsoring a bowling fundraiser to raise money for The Shining Down Foundation.

Tickets are $40.00 and include 4 drinks,party food and delicious desserts.

Some of our recent accomplishments!!

•  Donated $1500 to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Foundation in 2014.
•  Donated over $5,000 to the Be the Change Foundation in 2012
• Donated over $18,000 to the Debbie Pieri Angel Fund in 2010.
• Donated over $20,000 to Mommy’s Light in 2008
• Sponsored the Annual Doris Monaghan Allied Health Scholarship
• Supported the Domestic Abuse project in Delaware County
• Purchased a “smile” for Operation Smile
• Participated in the Springfield Halloween and 4th of July Parades
• Sponsored a student for a HOBY Scholarship
• Sponsored Student Honorees from area High Schools
• Purchased 2 seats at the Media Theatre
• Donated to the Springfield Public Library
• Donated $15, 000 to the Down Syndrome Interest Group of Delaware County in 2006
• Donated $1,425 to The Tug McGraw Foundation in 2004
• Donated over $10,000 to the St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Research Hospital in 2004
• Donated $18,000 to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association in 2002

About the Juniors

The GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Springfield (est. 1952) is a non-profit group of diverse women whose primary goal is to work together to raise money to support a number of charitable endeavors both locally and abroad. Like everyone these days, our club members lead very busy lives, but we all agree that it’s important to set aside time to have fun, meet  new friends, and make a difference in our community.   

The club's dedicated members sponsor several fun-filled events each year to support our fundraising efforts:  “Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It” talent auction, October Open House (featuring local home-based businesses and crafters), Saxer Ave. Halloween Parade, Bowl-A-Rama, holiday gift wrapping at local retailers and a Appleby's Pancake Breakfast.  

Our club also honors outstanding local high school seniors from both Springfield High School and Cardinal O’Hara High School twice a year and sponsors the Doris Monaghan Allied Health Scholarship, which is awarded  to a local high school senior pursuing a college career in a science-related career.   

Aside from fundraising, our club members also enjoy getting together for our monthly business meetings, crafts, fun day/weekend trips, and Saturday night out activities.  

Culminating each year, we also have a great May Dessert Meeting at a local restaurant with lots of treats, and our club year concludes   with an end of the year banquet to celebrate the amazing accomplishments throughout the year.
