About the Juniors

The GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Springfield (est. 1952) is a non-profit group of diverse women whose primary goal is to work together to raise money to support a number of charitable endeavors both locally and abroad. Like everyone these days, our club members lead very busy lives, but we all agree that it’s important to set aside time to have fun, meet  new friends, and make a difference in our community.
The club's dedicated members sponsor several fun-filled events each year to support our fundraising efforts:  “Make It, Bake It, Sew It, Grow It” talent auction, October Open House (featuring local home-based businesses and crafters), Saxer Ave. Halloween Parade, Bowl-A-Rama, holiday gift wrapping at local retailers and a Appleby's Pancake Breakfast.
Our club also honors outstanding local high school seniors from both Springfield High School and Cardinal O’Hara High School twice a year and sponsors the Doris Monaghan Allied Health Scholarship, which is awarded  to a local high school senior pursuing a college career in a science-related career.
Aside from fundraising, our club members also enjoy getting together for our monthly business meetings, crafts, fun day/weekend trips, and Saturday night out activities.
Culminating each year, we also have a great May Dessert Meeting at a local restaurant with lots of treats, and our club year concludes   with an end of the year banquet to celebrate the amazing accomplishments throughout the year.
For additional information about this club contact: GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Springfield P.O. Box 386 Springfield, PA 19064 or Membership Chairman Kelly Corey at  dakemmitt@yahoo.com

There is no obligation to join, so come and check us out!  Our Business Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month (September – June) at the Springfield Township Building at 7:30 p.m.  We hope to see you there!
